The Southern Counties Pétanque Association is one of a dozen or so geographic divisions of the English Pétanque Association (EPA), devoted to promoting the sport of Pétanque. Commonly known as French Boules, the game has an enthusiastic following in the UK where it is truly a family sport, appealing to young and old and to both men and women equally.
Greetings and welcome to the wonderful world of Petanque and, in particular to the Southern Counties website where you can find everything you have ever wanted to know about the sport and possibly, even more!
The SCPA comprises over twenty clubs within Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey and Dorset and is itself one of fifteen regions within the English Petanque Association.
This highly social sport is one of the few that can be played by people of all ages and all levels of skill at all levels of competition. Few other sports can offer the absolute beginner the chance to play against the experienced top players in club, league and regional competitions with many more taking part just for the healthy exercise and sheer enjoyment that it provides.
The SCPA is one of the largest regions of the EPA and over the years the members of its affiliated clubs have enjoyed success at all levels from regional open competitions to inter-national representation. The sky is the limit and is open to all players!
