I am very pleased to welcome you to the website of the Southern Counties Pétanque Association.
Southern Counties is one of fifteen regions that are affiliated to the English Pétanque Association. Our Association has well over 400 members and well over 20 Clubs to be found across Hampshire, West Sussex, Dorset as well as parts of Surrey and Wiltshire.
2012 was a great year for our members who included National Champions and EPA International representatives. We had a good year at the EPA Inter-Regional Competitions at their new venue on Hayling Island finishing 2nd in Division 1 of the Inter-Regional Championship and 4th in Division 1 of the Challenge Tournament. Two of our teams with two teams from the Chiltern Region were the winners of Division 2 of the Challenge Tournament.
Southern Counties promotes 6-a-side and 9-a-side leagues from March to October as well as both Summer Doubles and Winter Doubles competitions. We hold competitions for our regional titles, competitions to select our representatives at an Inter-Regional Championship and Challenge Tournament. There are also regular Open competitions hosted and organised by individual Clubs.
This is an exceptional sport where we can all play against our most talented players at our clubs, in the leagues, in competitions and even just for fun. Whether you have played before or not you will find the same warm welcome at all of our Clubs and you will be able to find one based near you on our list of Affiliated Clubs. Whatever your ability you will be helped and encouraged to play and enjoy our exceptionally social sport.
